last saturday i went to see monet in normandy at the cleveland museum of art. hated the pastel colors, but overall he has some pretty intense brushstrokes. i felt a weird sense of time seeing his signiture, i might push to say i felt some sort of nostalgic connection for some unknown reason. regaurdless, it was a good experience. that same day i went to see this guy keita at MOCA. hes a photographer from africa, or i guess i should say he was. his "work" was absolutely magnificent i suggest you look it up. work is quoted because he didn't consider himself and artist but his photos are undoubtedly strong. in this little article i read about him it talked about how things become art in western civilization. it made me think that everything is art no matter what it is. and i believe thats true.

oh and i bought this book on picasso and my friend bought me two books on jacob riis and gabrielle basilico. don't know who those two people are yet, but i'll find out . i love books.

decided this summer i want to start a photo journal. i'm going to stock up on 35mm film and double A batteries. i'm sick of driving around and every two seconds wishing i had my camera with me. super stoked for fall semester! i'm taking intro to photography =]

i've been debating what my second minor should be. i was going to do something with writing, but after taking this drawing class i'm throwing around the idea of some type of art. don't know, everything changes. we'll see.
